A Twin Headed Wolf is born! Julie and Branwen have collaberated to form a wildly wonderful, creepy, lyrical, twin-edged, harmony ridden, circus inspired, folk type music.
Twin Headed Wolf are Dublin based twin sisters Julie and Branwen from County Clare. They first encountered eachother in the womb, but only formed Twin Headed Wolf in April 2011. Their experimental sound has ventured from Electric Picnic to Norway’s airwaves. Using kalimbas, melodikas, jugs and saws alongside homemade instruments they have played a multitude of Festivals, both Irish and Norwegian. They were a featured act in the Festival Expo at the Music Show in the RDS and gig regularly around the country.
Drawing their inspiration from the each other’s imaginations, bonfire singsongs, circuses and scrapyards, their twin edged harmonies juxtaposed with sinister lyrics and a raw sound lend an ethereal flavour to folk music. With songs that have been described as timeless, and weapons for instuments, they are set to make a big splash in the Irish music scene. The two are currently working on their first EP and hope to release it in the not so distant future.
