Acupuncture/Acupressures

These therapies use the same pressure points and meridians, but Acupuncture employs needles, while Acupressure uses gentle to firm finger pressure. When these acupressure points are stimulated, they release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood, and enhance the body’s life force energy to aid healing. Acupressure therapy can be used to relieve pain, detoxify the body and tone tired or tense muscles.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a dynamic and deeply therapeutic massage. It fuses the sister sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga creating a strong deep tissue massage with assisted yoga stretches.

The massage combines deep tissue massage with oils and ayurvedic herbal powders which gently exfoliate the body and on a deeper level they sink in to detoxify the body.

Then comes the yoga. Our body is warmed up, energy is moving and then through assisted yoga stretches inspired by Iyengar, we can really explore our range of movement, flexibility and breath with the stretches. Create space for ourselves.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep-tissue massage concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body. By using deep finger pressure and slow, firm strokes, deep tissue massage is used to treat a variety of physical ailments.  Deep-tissue massage is more effective and affordable for relieving chronic pain than other conventional remedies. Because deep-tissue massage increases the flow of blood through through the body, it helps reduce the inflammation that causes pain. Deep-tissue massage can also help alleviate muscle tension by loosening the tight tissue clusters. Deep-tissue massage helps ease stress and tension, which can have a beneficial effect on blood pressure. Deep-tissue massage can help increase the body’s production of serotonin, the hormone that promotes happiness and good feelings!

Holistic Massage

Swedish or Holistic Massage is designed to bring about a deep state of relaxation and reduce muscle tension and stress. It benefits the client on many levels – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In a relaxed state, the body’s natural energy is restored and the natural repair system of the body is improved. Holistic Massage is beneficial for stress reduction, in breaking down waste deposits and improving blood circulation. It also increases energy levels, tones muscles and skin condition and assists digestion. It can also speed healing, breaks down adhesions, reduces high blood pressure, improves posture and can help prevent insomnia. Recommended for all! During the treatment the client will lie on a massage table or plinth and will be fully covered by towels, with only the body part being worked on at the time remaining exposed. Oil or therapeutic balms may be used during the massage.

Indian Head Massage

This gorgeous treatment is based on an ancient Ayurvedic healing system practised in India for over 1000 years. A wonderfully relaxing therapy that involves massage of the soft tissues in the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face. The therapist uses a range of different massage pressures and rhythms to stimulate these areas and help balance natural energies. There are many benefits e.g. higher levels of alertness/concentration and relief from tension headaches and eyestrain. However Indian Head Massage is not just physical; it works on an emotional level; also calming the spirit promoting relaxation and relieving stress.

Kum Nye Tibetan Massage

Kum Nye is a self~healing system that relieves stress, transforms negative patterns and helps us lead more balanced, happy & healthy lives.

This treatment induces deep physical and emotional relaxation and plays an important role in a world dominated by pace and stress. Akin to acupressure, the distinguishing feature of Kum Nye is the slow release from deep pressure that continues to expand long after physical contact with the point.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the holistic understanding, study and practice of treating points and areas in the feet and hands that relate to corresponding parts of the body. Using precise hand and finger techniques, a reflexologist may improve circulaton, induce relaxation and enable homeostatsis. This encourages the person’s own healing systems to be activated to maintain wellbeing.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you! Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of traditional Japanese therapeutic massage in which pressure is applied with the thumbs and palms to areas of the body. It promotes health by improving the body’s Ki (chi), or life energy. The purpose of the Shiatsu treatment is to re-balance energy along these channels and to promote self-healing. Shiatsu is Japanese for ‘finger pressure’, but the practitioner may also use thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet during a treatment. Touch is the essence of Shiatsu. Through the medium of touch the experienced Shiatsu practitioner is able to activate innate self-healing mechanisms within the patient, resulting in a heightened sense of well-being in body, mind and spirit.

Therapeutic/Sports Injury Massage
