KNOCKANSTOCKAN VOLUNTEER POLICY
KnockanStockan music festival takes place annually and has a dedicated team of musicians, riggers, production crew and volunteers who run the event. All of our staff work voluntarily and have a strong work ethos whichis based on team work and looking after each other, learning and cooperating. The very ethos of KnockanStockan is based on providing a platform for musicians, artists, lighting experts, street performers and much more. Volunteers are an essential part of making KnockanStockan feel like it is created for everyone to enjoy. We invite volunteers to work with us to create community spirit and expand the organisation’s network and diversity. We want to give students their first step into an industry which is difficult to break into. We do this by recruiting volunteers in colleges, be they tradesmen or artists. We aim to build a skilled workforce who wants to join a spirited team of individuals, taking part for a sense of camaraderie and achievement.Merging with local community groups allows us to involve residents of the surrounding community in a festival in their area. We wish to include members of the community to offer them a chance to learn the many valuable skills which are required to build the festival. As well as this we can guarantee a good time and a sense of involvement and appreciation.Education and inclusion are at the heart of our ethos and all really are welcome.
